Quality of Life Features

The Hive runs a handful of small plugins that make everyday play smoother — faster mining, instant tree felling, tidy chests, and more. None of these exist in vanilla, so here's what they do and how to use them.

What you'll learn

  • →VeinMiner — break a whole ore vein in one go
  • →TreeFalls — chop the bottom log and the whole tree comes down
  • →ChestSort — auto-organise chests and inventories
  • →GSit — sit, lie down, and crawl for roleplay and tight spaces
  • →Click Villagers — pick villagers up and move them
  1. 1

VeinMiner — mine whole veins at once

Hold your activation key and break one ore to mine the entire vein

VeinMiner lets you break an entire connected vein of ore by mining just one block — no more chasing diamonds one at a time.

    1. Hold the correct tool (a pickaxe for ore — it must be a tool that can actually mine the block).
    2. Hold your VeinMiner activation key while you break one block of the vein. By default this is sneak (Shift).
    3. The whole connected vein breaks at once, up to 100 blocks.

Configure it, toggle it on/off, or change the activation with:

    /veinminer
    âš ī¸
VeinMiner uses durability for every block mined, so a big vein wears your tool faster. Bring Unbreaking/Mending gear for serious mining.
  2. 2

TreeFalls — fell a whole tree in one chop

Break the bottom log and the entire tree falls

TreeFalls makes logging effortless. Break the bottom log of a tree with an axe and the entire trunk comes down at once. Leaves decay naturally afterward.

There's no command — just chop the base of any tree with an axe in hand. Great for clearing land and stockpiling wood fast.

    ✅
Use an axe with Unbreaking — felling big jungle or dark-oak trees racks up durability quickly.
  3. 3

ChestSort — keep storage tidy automatically

Chests and inventories sort themselves; toggle with /chestsort

ChestSort automatically organises items in chests so similar items group together — no more hunting through messy storage.

Toggle the feature for yourself, or check options, with:

    /chestsort

You can enable or disable auto-sorting for your own chests and inventory. If you prefer to organise things your own way, just turn it off.

  4. 4

GSit — sit, lie down, and crawl

/sit, /lay, /crawl for poses and squeezing through gaps

GSit adds body poses that vanilla doesn't have:

    • /sit — sit down where you stand (you can also right-click stairs and slabs to sit on them)
    • /lay — lie flat on the ground
    • /crawl — enter a crawl so you can fit through 1-block-tall gaps

Move or jump to stand back up. Crawling is genuinely useful for tunnelling and tight builds, not just for fun.

  5. 5

Click Villagers — pick up and move villagers

Sneak and click a villager to carry it

Moving villagers in vanilla is a nightmare of boats and rails. Here you can simply pick one up.

Sneak and interact with a villager to lift it, walk it to where you want it, then place it down. Perfect for setting up a trading hall or rescuing a wandering villager.

    â„šī¸
This only works on villagers in areas you're allowed to interact with — you can't grab villagers inside other players' protected plots.

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • ✓VeinMiner's default activation is sneak (Shift) while breaking — change it with /veinminer if you prefer a key.
  • ✓Both VeinMiner and TreeFalls burn tool durability per block — Unbreaking and Mending pay off.
  • ✓Turn ChestSort off with /chestsort if you like organising storage manually.
  • ✓Crawling (/crawl) lets you tunnel through 1-high gaps — handy for compact mining tunnels.
  • ✓Use Click Villagers to build a tidy trading hall instead of fighting with boats.
