Graves & Backpacks
Never permanently lose items on death. Graves save your inventory where you died — backpacks add portable bonus storage.
What you'll learn
- →When you die, GravesX saves your full inventory in a grave at your death location
- →Only you can loot your own grave — other players cannot steal from it
- →You're handed a tracking compass on respawn that points to your grave
- →Backpacks are craftable storage items you carry and right-click to open

What happens when you die
A grave spawns at your death location containing your entire inventory
- GravesX automatically creates a grave block at your death location
- Your entire inventory — armour, hotbar, everything — is locked inside
- Only you can open it. Other players cannot loot your grave
- Graves never expire — your items are safe even if you log off
✅No need to panic-run back. Your items are safe — take your time and come prepared if you died somewhere dangerous. - 2
Retrieve your items
Walk back to your death spot → right-click the grave block → all items return
Walk back to where you died and right-click the grave block to retrieve everything at once.
ℹ️If you died underground or in lava, the grave spawns at the nearest safe surface location nearby. - 3
Find your grave if you're lost
You get a tracking compass on respawn — or open /graves to see and teleport
When you respawn after dying, GravesX automatically hands you a recovery compass that points toward your grave. It works for a few minutes after death — follow it back.
You can also open a grave menu:
- Run
/gravesto open a menu listing all your graves and their locations - From that menu you can teleport straight to a grave
ℹ️The compass is a temporary item — if you wander off and lose track, open/gravesto find your grave again. - Run

Use a backpack for extra storage
Craft a backpack item, then right-click it in your hand to open it
Backpacks are physical items you craft and carry — not a command. Right-click a backpack while holding it to open its storage.

/backpack recipesBackpacks come in tiers — Members start with a golden backpack recipe for more slots. Like the rest of your inventory, a backpack you're carrying is stored in your grave when you die, so it's recovered together with everything else.
- Use a backpack as overflow storage when mining — fewer trips to base
- Keep food and potions in it to keep your hotbar clean
- The backpack travels with the item — hand it to someone and they get its contents, so don't lose it
